Do you ever wonder what does this greenish sandwich taste like? We don’t normally see green breads, and much more we don’t get to munch on those as frequently as those ‘normal-looking’ sandwiches. But hey, give this recipe a try. I bet you would definitely love this one. Healthy and nutritious, no wonder my gym buddies request for these protein breads! No kidding, heat up the Teflon pan now.
5 cups fresh spinach
1 ½ cups egg whites
¾ cup pea protein powder
- In a medium sized bowl, mix all ingredients together. Heat a non-stick pan or a Teflon pan, add a bit of coconut oil to the surface.
- Form into eight round shapes, or for that “sandwich-like appearance”, you may use square shapes.
- Fry the mixture. Control the cooking temperature by turning the head down to medium. Make sure that your pancakes are cooked through and through by flipping them to the other side as needed.
- Now that the ‘bread’ is done, we may now add the filling – and you can put whatever you feel like it. Tuna, egg and mayo, bacon and egg, sardines or mackerel.
