Listen up for a minute. I wanna ask you something and I want you to answer it honestly.... When was the last time you achieved or completed something you really wanted? Something that made you damn proud of yourself? Got something? Write it down, seriously. We live in a time where it’s EASY to take the EASY road.

Things are not a matter of life or death in 2020; most things feel as though a consequence barely exists for lazy choices. We live in a safe zone of mediocrity where we have so many options and no immediate threat and, it seems, we always have the option to take the easy way out when things feel hard. Plus, our attention, and willpower are weaker than ever from all the technology we have at our fingertips stealing our focus.
Sure, deep down we know consequences exist for not doing accepting we have better to give.
Deep down we know it is IMPOSSIBLE to live up to the purpose and person we’re meant to become when we always play it safe and follow the herd of sheep.
Deep down we know and, while it might bother us, we let it slide because we’ve been given a free pass by society.
Life has turned into that “participation” medal they give every kid in school, now instead of having to EARN that 1st place ribbon. We don’t even have to show up, level up, or grow anymore, because we’ll always get a pat on the back for just “being”.
But guess what? There are consequences - HUGE fucking consequences - and they don’t always show up immediately, but you better believe they ALWAYS show up.
Sometimes it’s in the form of anxiety or feeling a lack of purpose or, as is more and more evident, it shows up as crippling depression. Because deep down, you know...something is missing.

Sometimes it’s in the form of anxiety or feeling a lack of purpose or, as is more and more evident, it shows up as crippling depression. Because deep down, you know...something is missing. You KNOW you’re so much more capable and when you have NOT served or found your higher purpose or wake up feeling like you have a drive, it’s hard to feel like you’re here for a reason or progressing at anything.
Without progress, as humans, we get anxiously depressed.
You see where I’m going with this, guys?
We’ve become complacent and OK with not absolutely winning our day – every day.
Now I want you to think back and try to remember the surge of confidence and happiness you had when you actually accomplished something that took the extra effort or did the DEEP WORK.
Some of you are drawing a blank right now, aren’t you? I know, because I’ve been there and it’s a sad place.
Winning in life is like anything else we do. It's A HABIT, a learned behavior and something we get better at the more we do.
I’m not talking about the beer league slow-pitch game here. I’m talking about winning at your fucking LIFE.
Winning to the point that it becomes a habit and you expect great things of yourself; when you hold yourself accountable for your results. Anything less than what you are capable of would be a waste of your God-given potential.
The thing about winners is they generally can’t wait to begin setting their next obstacle/goal so they can experience the rush of PROGRESSING. They know the work is never done because the JOURNEY IS THE REWARD and is what gives them a purposeful, meaningful life!
THIS IS LIVING.
I remember TONY ROBBINS saying to me once, “If one word exists that could determine or describe happiness long-term, it is PROGRESS.”
Not exactly the word I was expecting but I thought about that statement for the rest of the day (and still do years later) and I now believe he was 100% right. To not be progressing and moving forward in life, is to have no REAL life at all.
Failure is often where success comes from. Fear is also something not to be fearful of. Our brains like to push us into safety and complacency, but that’s not where we thrive.
No growth = no fulfilment. Not feeling like you’re progressing (even in small ways) will leave you feeling empty and, as human beings, we are wired to search for things that give us that sense of meaning.
