How do the programs work?
Once you have purchased the program, you will receive access to our Intake Form and General Service Agreement (a link will be emailed to you). The Intake information you provide, including your photos, will give AVF a complete and accurate assessment of where you are starting from. If any further information is required we will email you with specific questions to help complete the intake process. All new programs will be processed in the order in which they are received with an approximate turnaround time of 3 to 6 business days. Please keep this in mind if you have a particular start date in mind or need material to begin your program on a specific day. We will do our best to accommodate any requests. All programs are custom-made on an individual basis and do require time to prepare.
Do I have to workout at a gym or can I workout at home? Do I need a lot of time or special equipment for this program?
As part of the intake process we will address all of these questions – this program is based entirely on YOU, what you need, want and have time for so it will be designed to fit your needs. We can design your program to work with whatever equipment, time and space you have available. We will make recommendations if we think something would benefit you but ultimately it is made specifically to fit your busy life and schedule.
How many days per week will I need to work out and for how long?
Again, this will depend on YOU & how much time you have available and, also, on what your goals will demand. Most people will start at 3-5 days/week for 45-60 minutes (depending on experience). We don’t recommend workouts longer than 60 minutes ever (not including cardio) and encourage our clients to keep their workouts to 60 minutes or less. We believe in “quality not quantity”. You’re there, putting in the time so make it count! Studies prove that even advanced athletes begin to lose effectiveness after 60 minutes of hard training. This is where post-workout nutrition becomes more important than overdoing it with more sets.
Is it time consuming to follow a meal plan?
There is a definite level of dedication you must be ready for. Depending on your lifestyle up to now it can seem like a lot if you are not prepared & organized. This is something we help you with – how to plan ahead, organize your week, pre-pack your meals and cook in bulk. Once you get the hang of some of these time saving tasks it will actually save you time every day. When you master the small details, your life and your program will go much smoother.
I have Crohn’s/Colitis/food sensitivities. Do you have experience working with specific food requirements?
Yes, I am fully certified in Nutrition and have worked with countless clients who have specific food requirements. I have found that by being on a balanced meal plan of whole foods, clients have been able to control and, in certain circumstances, greatly reduce their symptoms. However, we do advise that you consult with your physician before beginning any new fitness/meal plan if you have any specific concerns.
I’m breastfeeding. Can I still do this program?
Definitely! We take that into consideration when planning your workouts and meal plan. We’ve had great success working with new Moms!
Do I need to take a lot of supplements? Are they expensive?
Supplements are NOT the foundation to you transforming your body… at all. Hard work in the gym and consistent, solid, healthy nutrition is. No supplement will replace that. We do provide a list of recommended supplements but you do not have to take them. They are suggested to support optimal health more than anything because THAT will help you achieve your goals; being in consistent, good health.
